Geoffrey F. Webster – Passed peacefully at the age of 93 on Monday November 22, 2021, at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, Kirkland Qc. Geoff is survived by his brother Phillip, his niece Kathy, his nephews David and James, and their families. Geoff had a long and extremely well lived life.
Born in East York on April 11, 1928 to Guy and Gwyneth Webster, he was the middle child, having an older brother, Phillip and younger sister, Ann.
Geoff moved to Ste Annes in 1960 for employment with the McGill University Institute of Parasitology at Macdonald College, and he never left. He’d found the community that would forevermore be home. Those who have lived in Ste Annes would attest to Geoff’s love of walks, twice a day, all around town.
It was here that some years later he met Dr John R. Bider, founder of the St. Lawrence Valley Natural History Society, which opened the Ecomuseum Zoo in Ste Anne De Bellevue. And it is the Ecomusem, which Geoff went to work with in the 80’s, that was a second home. To know Geoff is to know his love of all things of nature.
Geoff’s fondness for travel took him everywhere. His interest was the history and local Flora and Fauna. These trips had him to cities and nature reserves at destinations around the globe.
Geoff enjoyed friends, conversation, family, and people in general. His last days were filled by all of these. He will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Belvedere Funeral Complex, 22025 Trans-Canada Rd, Senneville, H9X 0B2, 514 457-4440. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday November 27, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in St George’s Anglican Church, 23 Perrault, Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Qc.
The family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to St. Lawrence Valley Natural History Society or to Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
