Alice Gelech nee Swabb of Edmonton, our beloved mother and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 30, 2021.
Alice formerly of Willingdon, AB, moved to Edmonton in 1950 and embarked on a 35-year career in banking with the CIBC.
She is survived by her son Ken Gelech and daughter Deborah Gelech along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Michael Gelech; daughter Valerie Gelech; parents: Sarah and Nicholas Swab; siblings: Norman (Fran) Swabb of California, USA; Bill (Kathleen )Swabb of Vancouver, BC, Andrew Swabb, Adam Frank (Adeline) Swabb of Mundare, AB; sisters: Veronica Swabb, Ellen (Jack) Young of Kitchener, ON, Marge (Jack) Powell of Toronto, ON.
To honour her wishes there will be no formal services. There will be a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, Cross Cancer Institute, or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
