It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gary in his 68th year. Gary leaves to mourn his daughter Megan (Blair) Wheeler; precious granddaughter Nadia Madison Wheeler; brother Robert (Sandra) Braye; sister Lisa (Steve) Eisener; sisters-in-law: Pauline (Keith) Locke, Frances (Bill) Hurley), Marie (Guy) Wight, Eileen Bowers, Jane Wiseman and Betty Ann O’Driscoll; brothers-in-law: Dave (Ann) O’Driscoll, Michael (Bernadette) O’Driscoll and Tony O’Driscoll; aunt Gladys Leonard, uncles Jack, Ed and Bob Braye, aunt Lorraine Schure, cousin Linda (Peter) Glavine and many nieces and nephews; life long friends Geoff (Denise) Tulk, Larry (Paula) Hicks, Larry (Paula) Price, Roy (Marg) Hillier, Calvin (Sandra) Pretty, Simon (Sherry) Roberts and the rest of the boys on Sherwood Avenue; cruise night boys Ed Bannister, Bob Buckle, special driver Terry Knee when Gary was unable to drive. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen Braye (O’Driscoll, 2009, parents Rex and Gae Braye (LeDrew). Gary worked a lifetime at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday, January 3 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Vaccine Passports, ID and facemasks are required for entry. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Lynn Braye officiating. Due to Government Covid-19 Regulations funeral service will be by invitation only. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association.
