Gary Thomas, 75, of Milton, ON, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Milton District Hospital. He was born January 4th, 1946 in Toronto, Ontario, and is predeceased by his parents, Reg and Sadie Thomas. He was well known for having a winning and magnetic personality with a genuine zest for life. He loved being social and treasured good times with friends and family. He was especially known for his accomplishments in the Milton real estate industry, notably as Broker Owner of Miltowne Realty (later becoming Re/Max) and winning the Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year at age 36. He was also an avid sportsman, sponsoring and owning numerous sports teams including the Milton Aero’s, and the Miltowne Steamers hockey clubs, along with his own pursuits in slo-pitch, squash, cycling, hockey and golf. He also had a love for music and entertained many with his cowboy hat and guitar. He pursued travel and spent much time in Florida as well as at the cottage retreat on Lake Manitouwabing with his wife Judy, family, and friends. He will be forever loved and remembered by Judy, his son Glen (Melissa), daughter Wendy (Will), sister Gail (Bill), Judy’s daughters Amie (Chris), Lisa (Mike), nine grandchildren, Matthew (Alison), Griffin, Hunter, Austin, Nathan, Ava, Ethan, Grayson, two great granddaughters Ava and Madilyn, his extended family and countless friends.
A private family gathering will be held at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 905-878-4452 with a deserving Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
