Garnet Vincent Murray Henry

It is with sadness in our heart that we announce that Garnet was called home by the Creator on Wednesday January 23, 2021 in Vancouver British Columbia.
He was pre-deceased by his Father Lawrence, Mother Edna, brothers Eric, Roderick, Fredrick, sister, Leanella, special sister-in-law Reta Henry and many relatives.
Garnet is survived by his son, Garnet Jr, his daughter in law, Kelly. He also leaves behind six grandchildren Shelby, Celine, Elijah, Isaiah, Grace, Garnet III (Jr); and, 3 great-grandchildren, Taylan, Celeste, Landon.
Garnet is also survived by his brothers Lester, Elvis, Kevin, Roger and Lance; sisters Emily, Germaine, Giselle and Cecilia and his close aunts Ruth Henry, Lavina Dorma, Donna Quenel and uncles Ross Allary and Joseph ‘Shep’ Taypotat. Also, left to mourn Garnet is his special cousins Zachary Wasacase, Blaine Wasacase, Allen Henry and many relatives and friends.
Garnet’s wake will begin on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 4 :00 p.m. in the Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex, Ochapowance Nation. Funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday July 1. 2021 beginning with a traditional feast at 11:00 a.m., at the home of Elvis Henry (situated close to Ochapowace Ski Hill), followed by funeral service. Interment will take place in the Kahkewistahaw Cemetery, Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
