Mr. Garnet Eldon Eastman of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 67 years. Garnet was born in Revelstoke, British Columbia, and raised in the Kamloops area, until the family moved to southern Alberta, in the late 1960’s. After leaving Vulcan High School, Garnet worked at various jobs including; mining, road construction, and as a roadie for a rock band. Garnet settled in the Red Deer area and worked at Klass Custom Woodworking, for the past three decades. Garnet loved the mountains and exploring the countryside during his weekends. He spent many happy times camping and canoeing with friends. He enjoyed music, movies, and was an avid reader of history. Garnet told the best stories and liked to poke fun at his friends. Garnet was a gentle soul; who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A special thank you to his friends, Diana and Katrina for being with Garnet at the end, the kind people of Klass Custom Woodworking, and to Victor Burwell for always being a great friend to Garnet. Thank you to Dr. Curtis and the ICU staff at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, for keeping Garnet comfortable in his final days. Garnet will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Harvey Eastman (Val and Shawn), his sister, Beverly Burns (Greg, Thomas and Sarah), his stepfather, Lewis Wilson, his cousins, Victor Burwell (Colleen), Pat Gouin, Rob Gouin (Myrna), and Lorraine Gilbert (Ron), and their families. Garnet was predeceased by his mother, Anne in 2018, and his father, Eldon in 1976. A Private Family Memorial will be held at a later date.
