Obituary of Fred Wiebe
Fred was born on January 11, 1949 in Coaldale, Alberta to Henry and Katherine Wiebe. Out of nine children Fred was number seven. He died at home in Wildwood, Alberta on September 25, 2021.
Fred was a man of many talents. He could fix watches and clocks, and then play beautiful music on his violin. He knew how to play many other instruments and always enjoyed his mandolin and banjo. He had a very inventive mind however he tended to procrastinate so lots of his “projects” were never finished. He said he had enough work to keep him busy for another 100 years. His hobbies included growing potatoes in the summer and fishing in the winter. He loved to visit with many that ice fished on Chip Lake. He was also the local plumber for many years and worked out at camps with Local 488 Pipe Fitting Union.
He was a man that loved God, family, and his many friends. Fred Gave his life to Jesus Christ while still a teenager when he needed a purpose in life.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Fred married Elnora Waugh from Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on June 17, 1978. They had three children, Kenneth (1981), Cheri (1983) and Kevin (1984).
Fred was predeceased by his father Henry (1973); mother Katherine (2016); daughter Cheri (2015); sisters Katherine (1995) and Violet (2006); brothers Stan (2015) and Ed (2021) and brother-in-law Harold (2021).
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 43 years Elnora; sons Ken (Jackie) and their children Hannah and Tovah, son Kevin (Colleen) and their children Alistair and Isaac. Fred loved his grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his brothers Dan (Gail), Victor (Donna); sister Maxine; brother-in-law Dough; sisters-in-law Tay and Corinne; many nephews and nieces; uncle Bill and aunt Helen.
We grieve our loss however Fred is singing and praising with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
