Fred Francis Zamonsky of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, formerly of Grandview, Manitoba peacefully passed away on August 6, 2021 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
Fred was born to Michael and Mary Zamonsky on August 28, 1942 in Grandview, Manitoba. He attended Rose Ridge School until 1956 when his young heart took a passion to working on the family farm. In his younger years, Fred worked for Gunlock Construction where he built various education and health care facilities across Manitoba. After several years of travelling for work, Fred decided to settle down and started employment for a farm equipment dealer in Langenburg, Saskatchewan.
In July 1972, Fred married the love of his life Rosaline Dobranski, and began another chapter. They moved to Yorkton, Sk. in August of 1972. Here, Fred became a welder at Leon’s Manufacturing dedicating 35 years of service before his passion for farming led him into retirement.
Fred enjoyed many activities including gardening, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, helping out his sons on the acreage and farm, as well as being a self-taught musician, playing the cymbala and accordion at events such as dances and weddings over a period of many years.
Fred will be dearly missed by his loving wife Rosaline of 49 years, sons Kevin (Ashley) and Steve (Jody), and his grandchildren Curtis, Cameron, Danyka, and Alexander.
Fred was predeceased by his mother and father Michael and Mary, his daughter Angela, and his sister Helen.
A Family Graveside Service was held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Grandview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Father Oleg Bodnarski of the Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating.
