Obituary of Francis Daniel Saccary
It is with great sadness and heartache that we the family of Francis Saccary, age 42, announce his passing on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Originally from Dominion, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Francis was the son of his proud, loving mother Elaine (Boutilier) Saccary (Andy) and father Daniel Saccary. Francis, born on March 6, 1979, was a genuinely sincere, caring, calm, and gentle soul with a protective nature who always took the time for the ones he loved. He had many interests that he excelled at even from a young age. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, golf, boxing, jiu-jitsu, and motorsports to name a few.
A proud member of the Boilermakers Local 73 and employee of Syncrude Canada, Francis took tremendous pride in his work. He thoroughly enjoyed working with his hands and contributing to the success of his team in the Central Maintenance Shop at Syncrude. Dependable, trustworthy, and committed are just a few words to describe Francis’ work ethic.
Francis and Melissa had a beautiful life together. Travelling and camping were some of their many passions, and they shared amazing trips and adventures together. Their love and relationship were extremely special, and everyone saw how perfect they were for each other.
Francis was loved and respected dearly by everyone he met. He was known as the one who would talk to everyone he saw, whether it was a friend, acquaintance, or a complete stranger. He always left a lasting impression on the individual or group he was speaking with. His kind, helpful, and thoughtful nature was well known, and he has created countless connections with people across many provinces. He could always cheer anyone up with his contagious smile, his unforgettable laugh, and his memorable stories. Francis was adored by many and especially by his close friends. If you were ever a friend of Francis’, you were his friend forever.
Francis is survived by his loving, devoted, best friend and wife, Melissa (MacDonald), and their two pups, Bronx and Cali who were the light of his life; his parents; sisters Dennette (Jim), Sheri (Colin), Lynette (Mike), mother-in-law Shirley MacDonald, father-in-law Felix MacDonald (Mary Kaye), brother-in-law Wade (Andrea), sisters-in-law Lori (Doug), Tracy (Michael), Lisa, Susan (Mark), Jennifer (Ashley) Watson, and Ashley (Mike), as well as his adoring nieces and nephews, Carson, Cache, Mitchell, Easton, Kyle, Mason, Myles, Marley, Zoe, Teshia, Dylan, Colby, Kelsey, and Kyle, aunts and uncles Danny (Doris) Boutilier, Tom Shea, Michael (Tossie) Saccary, Sheldon (Nadine) Saccary, Winnie (Wayne) Boutilier, cousins, and extended circle of family and friends who cherished their time with him.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Weldon and Millie (MacLean) Boutilier and Jake and Mary “Dit” (McNeil) Saccary, aunts Tena (Boutilier) Shea, Polly (Boutilier) Coffin, uncle Bert Coffin, cousin Shaun Saccary, and his precious fur baby, Jersey.
To everyone who has called, sent messages, provided food, sent flowers and well wishes – your overwhelming support will always be remembered. It all means so much and is appreciated more than can ever be expressed. Our heartfelt thanks go out to his and Melissa’s Fort Mac family – Hugh and Jackie, George and Stephanie, Clayton, and Jen who have gone above and beyond during this devastating time.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15 from 10am-12pm and 6-8pm at Robert Anderson Funeral Home, MacAlpine Crescent, Gregoire Industrial Park.
Throughout Francis’ and Melissa’s home are three words they used to live by and guide their lives together, and we would like to leave everyone with: ‘Live, Love, Laugh.’ Let’s all take time to be with the ones we love and do something special for them as our Francis would. Let his light shine on.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Francis
Daniel
