Our amazing mother passed peacefully away at the age of 88 while in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Ronald Joseph and daughter Janet, Frances leaves to mourn 7 additional children; Tony, Lynn (Myrna), Chris (Michelle), Carol, Wayne (Triffie), Maxine (Greg) and Donnie (Corinna). She also leaves to mourn 11 cherished grandchildren; Nancy, Suzanne, Deidre, Robert, Jonathan, Bradley, Patrick, Ryne, Jason, Charlotte and Rowan. As well, she leaves 6 great grandchildren; Callia, Nicholas, Alexander, Sophia, Phoenix and Leon. All of which were near and dear to her heart.
Frances is predeceased by both parents; Bridget (nee Smart) and John Manning; her brother Joseph (Irish Christian Brother) and sister Regina Horwood (Gerald). Other siblings and in-laws left to mourn are Edward (Sandra), Gerald (Barb), Kevin, Theresa Fardy (Gordon, passed), Maureen Hagerty (Jim) and Barb Young (Gary).
She was also predeceased by her parents in-law Marguerite (nee Bradbury) and William Martin; brother and sister in-laws Betty and Bill White (Romeo, Michigan), Mary and William Maher (Flatrock). As well nephew Terry Maher.
Like most large families, she had countless nieces and nephews including godchild Andrea (Fardy) Hiscock, and all were of great interest. Family was important.
Frances will be remembered and missed by many family and friends who always checked in on her. She quite enjoyed the frequent tea visits and political debates with her brother Kevin. Also, a special thank you is extended to close friend and neighbour Marilyn Coady, daughter of long time neighbour and friend Anne Martin (passed).
Our mother was strong and it was on display throughout her life. With a heart of gold, she would do anything for anybody. She did everything for us. Those who knew her well, know that besides family she loved her housework, baking and scratch tickets. Her last day with us she was able to do them all. And that helps us smile.
Thank you to all medical staff in Emergency and 4 South B at the Health Science Centre. And especially to Doctors Sonny Collis, Jamie Tibbo and Craig Pochini for all your help, support and compassionate care. Anyone wishing to make a donation on her behalf please do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We also wish to extend a warm thank you to everyone for the kind phone calls, emails, and texts of condolences and food provided. It is all truly appreciated.
A funeral service will be held 11.00am Saturday July 24th at Holy Trinity Church in Torbay. Because of Covid-19 and number restrictions, anyone wishing to attend are asked to notify a family member by Wednesday, July 21st.
