David succumbed to cancer as he slept in the early hours of July 31. Predeceased by his mother, Maxine Faulkner, he is very much missed by his loving wife Jennifer, daughter Adrienne and her partner Marko, father Gary and his partner Gail, brother Mike and his wife Karen, niece Paige, nephew Davis, parents-in-law Bob and Marilyn Pratt, sister-in-law Garnet Pratt and numerous family and friends.
David (Dave to his family) was a beautiful, kind, gentle and loving person. He was happiest with his wife and daughter or on his bicycle, which he rode everywhere, in all types of weather, year-round. He read widely and thought deeply, and this fuelled his passion for the environment and fighting climate change. David looked on life and love as the greatest of gifts and was truly grateful for the love he had all around him. This love grounded his constant effort to live his beliefs and his example was an inspiration. He will be profoundly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
David’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all the staff and volunteers at Pilgrims Hospice Society and the Roozen Family Hospice Centre, where he spent his final days in peace and happiness.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory can be made to the Alberta Centre for Environmental Education, or to Pilgrims Hospice Society.
An informal celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
