It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Evagelos Tzamarias, on August 13, 2021, at the age of 68.
He immigrated to Canada in 1969, at the age of 16, with his family and he did everything to build a successful future for himself and his loved ones. He was a proud businessman and was forever grateful for the chances he got when coming to this country. Without forgetting his heritage and his Kefalonian roots, he was so proud to call Montreal, Quebec and Canada his home. He was a hard and relentless worker who had an irreproachable work ethic. He never gave up and was so brave. Those qualities helped him through all his years of illness. He always said that there was somebody in a worse situation than his, even in the worst of times. He always saw the glass half full and enjoyed every single moment with his loved ones as if it was his last. He lived his life to the fullest despite his situation and he should be an example to everyone.
He lived for his family. He had always wanted children and he was lucky enough to have two. He was their superhero. He taught them that family and love come before everything else. As long as they were together and united, nothing else mattered. He also deeply loved his wife and the love they had for one another is indescribable and unquantifiable. Their love for each other will forever be an example of what a relationship should be for their children.
He was an inspiration to all those who encountered him.
Beloved husband and partner for 47 years of Linda Forest, cherished father of Andreas (Stéphanie) and Alexandros (Jacklyn), devoted grandfather of Leonard. He will also be missed by his brother Christos (Georgia), his sisters Dimitra (Stavros), Katerina (George) and Maria, his nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Complexe Yves Légaré de Laval (1350 A-13, Laval).
A funeral service will be held on Monday August 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Archangels Michael and Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church (11801 Avenue Élie-Blanchard, Montréal).
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital for their wonderful support and care over the last 28 years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (INM – Recherche sur la maladie de Parkinson) in his honor would be appreciated.
