Obituary
Also known as Bruce to friends and co-workers at Thurso Pulp and Paper, “Mister Gene” passed away peacefully at home on September 24th, 2021, at the age of 85. He was surrounded by his family and a very dear friend. He was the son of the late Edgar and Mary Lavell née Kelly. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Jean Lavell née Parent; his daughters: Vicki (Mark), Tammy (Steve) and Shelley (Hugh); his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Dumpy”: Shawna, Laura, Kendra, Aislinn, Trent, Brendan and Alyssa; great grandchildren Jacob, Sophie, and Jonathan; his sisters: Lois and Margery of Edmonton, Alberta as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister Doris.
The family would like to thank Dr. Guilbeault and Anik Cousineau for their professional loving care.
Due to current capacity limits, a private service will be held Saturday, October 16th 2021 at St-Malachy Church in Mayo, Quebec, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at 1:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Buckingham, Quebec.
