Enid’s Obituary
Campbell, Enid Elizabeth – Tatamagouche: Age 96, died peacefully September 10, 2021 in her own home after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was a masterful cook, a champion berry picker and gardener, reader, world traveler and cat-lover, with a gift for friendship, especially in her beloved village of Tatamagouche. She remained sharp-minded and active into her nineties, downhill skiing until age 80, and only recently retiring her bicycle. A farm girl from Orono, Ontario, she and husband Bill along with Leslie and Bobby, lived in various parts of Canada, and in England and Jerusalem, until a move to Nova Scotia in the sixties. She’s survived by her daughter Leslie, grandsons Beau (Michelle), Aaron (Emily), great-grandchildren Alex, James, Heston and Helena. She was pre-deceased by her husband Lt. Col William Campbell (2003) and son Robert (1974). Many thanks to numerous friends and caregivers, a group referred to by one friend as “Enid’s Army,” most especially June, Darlene, Cecelia and guard-cat, Maude, who stayed by her side until the very end. At Enid’s request, there will be no funeral. Burial of her ashes will take place later at Saint John’s Anglican Church in Toronto, beside her husband. Arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamaouche. Online condolences can be sent to the family by visiting the funeral home website at: www.mmcfunerals.com
