Pettipas, Emma Pearl, age 85, formerly of Linwood, Antigonish
County, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2021, in the Aberdeen
Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Joseph
Elias and Rose Madonna (Levangie) DeCoste.
Emma was a hard-working woman, raising nine children who
loved coming home to the smell of her cooking and baking.
She cared for everyone and asked for nothing in return. She
enjoyed bingo, cross stitching, crocheting, and especially her Sunday
Social of church and then Tim Hortons.
She is survived by her children, Mary Rose Pettipas and her
children, Cory, Jeffrey, and Travis; Stephen Pettipas (Sarah Joyce)
and his children, Loretta, Bradley, and Chad; Donna (Carl) Burton and
son, Adam; Russell (Mary) Pettipas and children, Josh and Jenna;
Elaine (Brian) Carr and children, Shawn and Tyson; Carol (Freddie)
Greencorn and children, Brianna and Brittany; Theresa (Wayne) Samson
and children, Roslyn and Abby; Bernice (Gary) Meister and children,
Rachel and Katelyn; and Laurie (Anthony) Chisholm and children, Taylor
and Brayden; 10 great-grandchildren with three on the way; brother
Lawrence (Annette) DeCoste, Havre Boucher; and sister-in-law, Darlene
DeCoste. She will be sadly missed by her many
friends.
Predeceased by her husband, Joe; brother, Carlie, and
sisters, Yvonne, and Ida.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation
will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 22nd from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be in St. Peter’s Church,
Tracadie on Friday at 11:00 am with Reverend John Barry
presiding. Burial in Parish Cemetery. A recording of the
Funeral Mass will be available on this webpage later this
afternoon.
