Elizabeth Marie (Roddick) Lane
Elizabeth passed away in Ottawa on Saturday November 27, 2021 in her 73rd year. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. J.E. Roddick and Joan Roddick both formerly of Brantford, Ontario, as well as by her brother Chris Roddick and sister Helen Roddick. She leaves behind her husband Edward, children Matthew, Bridget and Sharon, and grand children Anika and Teila as well as nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Queen’s University in 1971, Elizabeth will be remembered by her Wednesday Walkers as an Associate Member of The League of Fallen Women. For over thirty years she was an active organizer and participant in her Book Club group. With her science and health care background, members regularly deferred to her as their science guru. A craftswoman par excellence, her quilts have been distributed to numerous friends and family and more will follow. With an interest in family history and puzzles, she applied her research skills and genealogy training to complete the publication of her family tree. She was generous with her time, giving sought after advice on gardening, cooking, and many other topics where her life experience was valuable. Her kindness has been recognized by many friends and neighbours and she will be missed by all.
A celebration of her life will be held in Ottawa in the new year and internment will be held at the family plot in Lyndhurst, Ontario at a future date.
