Elizabeth “Betty” Grace Freeman (nee Moody) passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021 in Trail, BC. She was born in Dryden, Ontario July 4, 1954 to the late Wes and Evelyn Moody. Betty moved West and spent a number of years in Fernie, BC, where she made life-long friends before settling in Trail. In 1998, she met her partner Eddy Bulfone and moved to Miral Heights. Throughout her life, Betty loved to cook, enjoyed golfing, and made beautiful beaded jewellery and rawhide clothing. She also went to the Legion often and annually supported the Lions Demolition Derby in Fernie. Betty loved her daughter and grandchildren dearly and remained good friends with her first husband Wally. She will be forever in our hearts and memories.
Betty is survived by her long-time partner Eddy, her daughter Crystal (Dale) and grandchildren Haley and Skylar. She is also survived by her siblings Celia (Vern), Wendy (Walter), Cheryl, Pat (Gary), Ken (Cheryl), Ray (Lou), Neil (Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and Columbia View Lodge for the support and wonderful care they provided for Betty.
Once possible, a service will be held later at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 11, where Betty was a member. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, friends and family who wish to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
