Obituary of Eileen Brown
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Julianna Brown (nee Weber) who left this world peacefully on December 18, 2021, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. Born on October 22, 1944, in Castor Alberta, Eileen is survived by her daughters Janice Eileen (Michael) Whitelock and Diane Gail Brown; granddaughters Jaclyn and Kaylee Whitelock (Mathew Thompson) and sisters Lorraine (Reinnie)Bauer and Betty Ann (Stan) McKinty. Predeceased by the love of her life Richard R. Brown. We find peace in the knowledge their souls are together.
Eileen was feisty, strong willed and tender hearted. With a fierce love for her family, she was deeply compassionate and generous to a fault. She loved children and always delighted in her encounters with her younger neighbours, revelling in their stories. She loved watching the comings and goings of the neighbourhood from her bay window. Those who passed by were sure to get a cheerful wave and a friendly smile. In her later years she began to foray into the landscape of technology to connect with her granddaughters (and their pets) She became quite skilled in the use of emoji’s.
Perhaps it is fitting that Eileen was an avid collector of Thomas Kinkade pieces, as she herself spread joy and light to the lives of those she touched. We were blessed to have her in our lives, and she will live on in our hearts.
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains” (Emily Dickinson).
