Obituary of Edythe Adele Sibbick
Edythe Sibbick, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in Brantford on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in her 94th year. Predeceased by her sisters Audrey Hough (Bob) (2012), Katherine Harris (Percy) (2008) and Edna Spaxman (Alvin) (2003), and her brother Ross (Dorothy) (2003). Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Alvin Spaxman. Beloved aunt of Carolyn Sibbick (Michael), Toronto, Marilyn Lawrence (Eugene), Brantford, Glenda Willett (Greg), Paris, Grant Sibbick (Nelda), Paris, Ann Spaxman, Paris, Allison Spaxman (Kostas), Munich, Elizabeth Forsythe, Kingston and Paul Harris (Nicole), Quebec. Beloved great-aunt of Joel, Ryan, Jordan, Kyle, Braeden, Kaylee, Sarah, Justin, Megan, William, Sarah, Alexandra, Victoria, Stacey, Maryse and Jocelyn. She will be greatly missed by her family and faithful friends, Jan and Malcom Sears, Maureen Eitel and Shirley Deleeuw. Edythe was a primary school teacher with The Board of Education for the City of Hamilton for 35 years, retiring in 1983. Upon retirement, she faithfully volunteered for many years for The Canadian Red Cross Society and at Hamilton Health Sciences. Edythe was also a devoted and active member of Philpott Church, Hamilton. Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, one hour prior to the Funeral Service which will be conducted in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. by Dr. Lane Fusilier. Due to COVID restrictions, online registration will be necessary for those who are not specifically invited by the family. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed and saved on the Funeral Home’s Facebook page (to link to Facebook page, please CLICK HERE). A private interment will follow the service.
