Obituary
EDYTHE IRENE WOOSNAM
1920-2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Edythe Woosnam at Wildwood Care Centre in St. Marys on Monday, January 11th, 2021. She will be sorely missed by her son Bob (predeceased by her son Walter), grandchildren Cheryl and Susan, great-grandchildren Nicole, Sydney, and Molly, and great- great grandchild Emily.
Edythe was born in August 1920 following the Great War and the flu pandemic of 1918/19, was shaped and tempered by the Roaring 20s and the Great Depression, and farmed with her husband and partner Morgan (Bill) during the 40s (prior to electricity, indoor plumbing, and toilets) 50s and 60s. She contributed to her community in a thousand ways and was frequently honoured at the Thorndale Fall Fair. She was widowed in 1987. She was indeed a force to be reckoned with and will be missed by those who knew her and knew of her.
Interment has taken place at Zion Hill 7th Line Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Edythe, please consider the Thorndale United Church of Canada. Donations can be entrusted to Brock and Visser Funeral Home-Thamesford (519-285-2427) Expressions of love and sympathy may be viewed and made online at brockandvisser.com
