March 7, 1968 – August 29, 2021
HARRIS, Dwayne Ernest – 53, Welshtown. It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my husband Dwayne in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Sunday August 29, 2021. Dwayne was the love of my life and I’m going to miss him so much.
He was loved by all who knew him, and I called him the neighborhood “Mr. Fix-it”. There was nothing he couldn’t do from tractors to any other fixer-uppers. Dwayne’s passion was working in the woods and loved being in the great outdoors. He loved life so much up until a four year battle with cancer came to an end. He worked for the DOT until his illness became so severe and he had to stop.
Dwayne is survived by his loving wife Janet, step-daughters; Samantha Davis, Tina Davis, his mother Sharon, daughter Jenevra Mahaney, sister, Debbie (Marshall) Hamilton, Brothers; Dana and Jason; mother in law Vivian Williams; grandchildren; Bentley Davis, Paizlie & Ziyah Atkinson; Brent and Eianna Mahaney, along with many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Lloyd Harris, grandmother, Annie Harris, step-fathers; John Joseph Waybret and Gerald George Hudson.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations in Dwayne’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Special Thanks for the following people; Dr. Forward and Staff (Halifax – V.G. Hospital, Dr. Keeler and Staff at Roseway Hospital; Dr. Tom Muise and Staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Janet wishes to give special mention to Marshall Hamilton, and Lynn Holmes for their help in transporting Dwayne around for his appointments. Notable mention to all who helped with fundraising, trips to Yarmouth, Halifax and much more, May God Bless you all.
