Douglas C.
Patterson, 89, of Moncton, and formerly of Oxford, NS,
passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord at McNair Manor,
Moncton, NB on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Born in Linden NS, he was the
son of the late Harold and Caroline (Batstone)
Patterson.
Doug was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, uncle and brother. In his early years he worked on the
family farm in Linden, NS. After marrying Bea Cutcliffe,
they purchased their own farm in West Pugwash, NS. Doug
joined The Windsor Salt Company in Pugwash and worked there for over
35 years. Throughout his life, he attended Gospel Halls in Port Howe,
NS and Moncton, NB.
Doug will be missed by his family and
friends; his daughters, Janet Good (Gary) of Avon Park, FL, Eunice
Hodgkins (David) of Cape Traverse, PE and Elaine Gaudreault (Yves) of
Sackville, NB; sons, Richard (Jennifer) Patterson and David (Angela)
Patterson, both of Moncton, NB and Kevin (Karen) Patterson of Oxford,
NS; grandchildren, Katherine, Kristen (Jonny), Kayla (Tim), Kevin,
David (Julie), Clara, Annie, Sadie, Robert, Karissa (Alejo), Patrick,
Selina and Daniel; as well as his brother Lawrence (Wilma) Patterson,
sister-in-law Shirley Patterson, and sister Marjorie (Roy) Harvey.
Many nieces and nephews also mourn his passing. In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Bea and brothers,
Hiel (Margaret), Cecil, Ernest and infant brother
Gerald.
Visitation hours at
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton, NB (506-858-1995) on Thursday July 22nd from 6:00 pm to
9:00 pm. The funeral service for Doug is entrusted to the guidance of
Fergusons Funeral Home and will be held at the Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, NS on Friday July 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
All are welcome to this outdoor service.
In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Moncton Gospel Hall Building Fund or the NB Heart
& Stroke Foundation.
