We will sadly miss “Oiseaux’’ so very much and all the good times we had with Doug and his sudden passing. Survived by his wife Linda Bird of 50 years this August 2021, daughter Suzanne Tate her husband Adam Tate, grandchildren Anna & Abby Tate, his sister Jeanie Bird & niece Andra & Cristopher and baby Nico, brother James Bird & partner Ross. Friends and family will especially love the memories of their talks watching TV before Doug falling asleep in the Lazy-Boy with a half empty glass of wine.
Forever known as « Gucci Shoes » and the famous « GUCCI » story. Doug’s famous mustache will be sadly missed by all the extended family of brother in laws & sisters, nieces and nephews. Born with Hemophilia, Doug spent a majority of his life on crutches, in hospitals & healing from Hemorrhages but outliving many life expectancies associated with the severity of his condition. The family just celebrated his 73 birthday Jan 29 with his favourites: watching CNN or car races, a little red wine, black licorice and his favourite snack corn chips. Many will remember Doug for his incredible artistry for refinishing old cars, taking home numerous trophies and awards for his most recent passion project a 1934 Terraplane he rescued from a barn.
