Obituary of Dorothy Jean Myers
It is with broken hearts that the family of Dorothy Jean Myers, loving wife of the late James Myers, announce her passing on November 30, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 11, 1940, in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Stevens) Mitchell.
There are not enough words to describe our beloved Dorothy. She was a pure, genuine, caring, loving, nurturing, forgiving woman who never said a bad word about anyone. She was a woman of great faith who read her Bible and devotions every day and never missed a day without praying for her family and friends. Dorothy had many interests including writing in her journal, knitting, making crafts and especially loved her camera. She would always be taking photos and, in fact, if you came for a visit you were going to have your photo taken before you left! She would be known to write in her journal of when people visited and even what they were wearing! Above all, she loved family and never forgot a birthday, always ensuring a birthday card was given on their special day. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Linda Gallant (the late Bernie) and Brenda Gauvin (the late Ivan); granddaughter, Rhonda Miller (Rick); great-grandchildren, Cameron (Ashley) and Joey Paley; great-great-grandchildren, Willow and Rowen Paley; special niece, Wanda Myers; special nephew, Kevin LeBlanc; brothers, Bill (Geraldine), Sam (Connie), Allen (Theresa), Harold and Danny; sisters, Judy Barr, Jeanette Stevens and Joan Wilson (Doug); brothers-in-law, Wayne Myers and Joseph Myers; several nieces and nephews and extended family; as well as fur baby, Daisy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Wayne, Margaret, Malcolm, Marlene, Doreen, Dianne, Bobby and Betty; parents-in-law, Helen Myers and Joseph Boyle; and sister-in-law, Sandra Leblanc.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 6-8 PM. A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 12:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel.
