Obituary of Dorman Joseph Alexander
Dorman Joseph Alexander
Flat Bay West, NL
Dec. 15, 1926 – Oct. 8, 2021
It is with sad but grateful hearts that we say farewell to a strong man, Dorman Alexander. Dorman was a hard worker all of his life. He was well known for his Sawmill and spent many hours after his work days at the Gypsum Mines. Dorman was 14 years old when he went to work for the first time at George’s Lake.
No person was ever turned away from the kitchen table. He gave so many a home and food.
Dorman leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his son Ashley (Catherine).
He was pre-deceased by his wife Angela whom he longed to be with since her passing, his son Donald, mother: Mary Costard; father: Edward Alexander.
His extended family that he raised from young children: Linda Williams (Roland), Harold Legge (Jessica), Walter Legge (Carmie), Clifton (Donna) and numerous grand-children and great-grand-children.
A special thank you and gratitude to Debbie Bennett, his home- care worker. She went above and beyond to care for him. We will never forget her compassion. Thank you to Glenn Young, social worker, who was always there for us. To Tiffany and Dita for all their help. To Jessie Legge and to everyone for the care and love you showed.
Visitation will take place from St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Sunday, October 10, 2:00 P.M.- 9 P.M. Flat Bay, NL. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, October 11 at 10:00 with Fr.
