Obituary of Doris Lorraine Julien
JULIEN, Doris Lorraine (Sovie)
October12, 1929 – July 4, 2021
It is with saddened hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Doris Julien (Sovie), formerly of Wheatley. She will be re-united with her beloved husband Kenny Julien (1967). Doris leaves behind daughters Christina Julien-vanGulck (Ed,2012), Julie Copeman (Ken), and her sister Sharon Currie (Roy, 2021). Predeceased by parents Everett and Vera Sovie and siblings Vivian Sweet, Myrna (Top) Poole, Elaine Dibbley, Lois Wiper, and Jim Sovie. Living in Wheatley, a day at the beach with family and friends was a big part of Mom’s life, she and Top loved to bask in the sun and work on their tans. They would pack up and return to the neighbourhood, were Mom and Helen would lend a hand as they worked together building their own homes. Mom loved to dance, listen to country music and follow the Detroit Tigers. HOWEVER, the thing she cherished most in life was getting to be « Dodie » to grandchildren Jennie, Jonathan, Cindy, Stacy, and Corrie as well as the 9 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Mom was 91 years of age and a resident of Tilbury Manor. The family would like to thank Dr. Bryan, the staff, and volunteers at Tilbury Manor for their kindness and care over the past years. As per Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Wheatley, at a later date.
