Obituary of Doriene « Dee » Scott
It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Doriene (Dee) Ethel Scott (nee Whitney) of Spruce Grove, AB on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 78. She passed away peacefully, after losing her battle with lung cancer, in Saint Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta, with family by her side.
Doriene is survived by: her son, Dean (Lynda) Mari; grandchildren, Dylan (Kierra), Aden (fiancée – Emily Lybeck) and Dane (Brittany).
Siblings; Raymond Whitney (Karen), Glenn Whitney (Diane), Gloria Ross (Bob), Valeria Wilker (Jeff), Leslie Whitney, Brenda Henrikson (Terry), Judy Whitney, Kelly Whitney, and Joy Metcalf.
Stepchildren; Rob (Fern) Scott and children, Kyle (Terri) and children, Harlea and Sloane; Johnathon (Tracie) Carriere and children, Blake and Danielle; Gerry (Laurie) Scott and children, Jordan (Sara) and children, Hunter and Ivy; Karma-rae (Matt) Boyer and children, Cali and Jaxx; Susan (Ric) Burnett and children, Kelli (Ally) and Brenna; Tina (Dale) Kostiuk and children, Michael (Emily), Lauren (Jordan) Lambert and daughter, Emery; Jessica (Ross) Martell and daughter, Peyton; step son-in-law, David smith and his children, Jodie (Joe) Morris and Jeremy.
Dee will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her church communities, and very dear friends.
Dee is predeceased by: her best friend, husband and love of her life, Bob; her parents, Ralph and Violet Whitney; her sister, Shirley; and step-daughter, Karen smith.
The family would like to thank Westview Home Living Program for the wonderful care and support provided to enable Dee to live independently in her apartment. Thank-you to the doctors, nurses and support workers of palliative care at St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital for taking care of Dee and making sure she was comfortable in her final days.
The Celebration of Life will take place at Southridge Community Church (5701 41 St, Lloydminster, AB), March 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Due to current restrictions, the number of attendees who are not immediate family will be restricted.
