Obituary of Donna M. Cowell
COWELL: Donna M. (nee Foster) –
A lifelong resident of Chatham, Donna Cowell passed away at home with family at her side on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the age of 89.
Born in Romney Township, Donna was the daughter of the late Paul and Fennell (Webster) Foster.
Beloved wife to the late Jack Cowell (2014).
Loving mother of the late J. Paul Cowell (2000) (Lu-Anne), Judy Cowell (Louis VanderLinden), Brent Cowell, Dale Cowell (Penny) and Douglas Cowell (Renée).
Proud Grandma to Stephen, Shannon; Christopher, Kirby, Aaron, Leaelle; Jack, Cole; Brandon; the late Bailey (2001), Brooklyn and Brady.
Great-Grandma to many great-grandchildren.
Dear sister to Joy Mellow and Janice Harris. Predeceased by her siblings Allan « Bud » Foster, Murray Foster, Marion Quick, Fred Foster, Earl Foster and Larry Foster.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Donna was a member of the P.G.H. Nurse’s Alumni, having graduated as a RN in 1952. She retired from P.G.H. in 1993. In her spare time, Donna volunteered at Geranium House and attended Chatham Baptist Church, participating in the Lena Dick Mission Circle. She later joined Maple City Baptist Church.
Donna and Jack were members of the Kent Historic Auto Club and participated in numerous car shows and events over the years.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. Those planning to attend are required to register online at ( signup.com/go/gAqxzAX ) or by phoning the Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at Maple City Baptist Church, 500 Indian Creek Road West, Chatham at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 5, 2021 with Pastor Rick Dressler officiating. The Funeral Service will be Live-Streamed on the Funeral Home website. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Donna to the Community Living (in memory of Paul), Sick Kids Foundation (Bailey Sarah Cowell Memorial Fund), or Canadian Cancer Society (Transportation Program) (in memory of Jack) would be appreciated.
