October 30, 1923- December 22, 2021
Donelda passed gently into her new life, to join beloved husband Raymond (deceased 2015). She will be forever remembered by her children Richard (Rick) and Norma Brock and Nancy Carruthers and Al Demaray. Her grandchildren Kristin and Des Von Teichman, Nicole Brock, Hailey Brock (Brayden Plummer), Devon Brock (Jeremy Case-Klassen), Amy Carruthers, and Raymond Carruthers. Donelda’s great-grandchildren Max, Sophie, and Téa Von Teichman, Hanna, Lilly, and Ella Nopper, Brock Steadman, Edythe and Fintan Plummer, Ora Case, and David Carruthers. She leaves wonderful nieces and nephews who were such an integral part of her life. Mom lived a colourful life, painted by her own tongue. She worked hard and valued her family. She was her family’s greatest cheerleader encouraging us all to do our best. Donelda loved to laugh and could see a joke in almost anything. She loved music, bridge, and good food and one of her greatest joys was when friends or family dropped in suddenly. Advanced years left her in a wheelchair and she missed dancing. We believe she has gone to join Ray, her dear husband of 72 years to dance once more. A special thank you to Abby Andrus who filled the last 9 months of Donelda’s life with such joy and warmth. We are forever grateful. There will be a celebration of Donelda’s life in the spring when we can all be together.
