Obituary of Donald Therrien
It is with great sadness we announce the death of Donald Therrien, peacefully at the Welland Hospital at the age 83. Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Jeannine (née Drouin). Cherished father of Normand, Micheline (Jack), Robert and Richard. He will be missed by his 4 grandchildren; Celina (Ben), Jennifer (Graeme), Marc, Ryan and 4 great-grandchildren; Miranda, Olivia, Sabrina and Orion. Dear uncle of Claire (Bob) and Shawna. Predeceased by his parents Amedee and Alida Therrien (née Lemlin).
Donald’s colorful work history started at the age of 13. He eventually retired after many years at Atlas Steels. He loved to be surrounded by his family telling stories of his life, spending time tinkering in his garage, playing cribbage, watching his Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, and the Packers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Keeping with Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
