Obituary of Donald Ladd
Ladd: Donald Bruce – Formerly a resident of Blenheim, Donald Ladd passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens on Monday, October 11th at the age of 85. Born in Clinton, Mr. Donald Bruce Ladd was the son of the late Hugh and Reta (nee Elliott) Ladd.
Beloved husband of the late Bette Ladd (nee Tait ). Loving father of Debra Ladd (Gerard O’Neill) of Newcastle, Karen Travis (Kevin McCorkle) of Chatham and Stephen Ladd (Denise) of McKay’s Corners. Grandfather of Scott (Elissa), Amanda (Sean), McKenna and Grayson. Great Grandfather of Macy, Kingsley and Wesley.
Survived by his sisters Katherine Harris of Clinton, Joan Keys of Clinton, Mary Dietrich of Etobicoke, Barbara Howard (Jim) of Goderich and Margaret Pickett also of Clinton. Predeceased by his brothers Jack, Frank and Paul. Don worked as a Post Master, at the Post Office for 40 years. He was a member of the Blenheim Rotary Club and on the board for the Blenheim Arena.
Don was a woodworker and enjoyed playing many rounds of golf with Bette. Most of all, he will be remembered as a very quiet and gentle man. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Riverview Gardens – 5th floor for all of their kindness and special attention they gave to Don.
Following cremation the family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 6:00- 8:00pm. Those planning to attend are required to register online at ( signup.com/go/amvDfZK ) or by phoning the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at the Clinton Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Donald to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham would be appreciated.
