Obituary of Donald Irwin Cooper
Peacefully, in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 1st 2021 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Creechan). Loving father and stepfather of Chris Cooper (Terry), Mark Cooper (Linda), Rick Creechan (Michele), Randy Creechan (Vicky), Kelly Lera (Domenic) and Terry Creechan (Nancy). Cherished grandpa of Michael, Amanda (Dan), Patrick (Laura), Jennifer (Nick), Stephanie (Matt), Nicholas (Sabrina) and great-grandpa of Zachary, Lyliah, Leo, Juliono and Allessa. Coop was a longtime employee with Dofasco with 37 years of service. He enjoyed coaching the Dofasco women’s baseball team “Cooper’s Bloopers” before his retirement. Coop also volunteered for many years, coaching various youth sports teams in the community. He will be deeply missed by all who met and knew him. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Coop’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
