Passed away peacefully in St. John’s, NL at the age of 82, surrounded by family. Married for 47 years to Bridie (nee Bruce); father of Brent (Karen Wade), Jennifer (JP Morrissey), and Michael (Wanda); and beloved grandfather (“Pop”) to Jacob, Abby, Jackson, Noah, Sophie, and baby Owen (eviction date: December 3rd). Predeceased by parents Dick and Edie Myron, brother Frank, mother- and father-in-law Jim and Lucy Bruce, and beloved sister-in-law Martha Bonnell. Leaves behind brothers Jim and Rick, and brothers- and sisters-in-law Jim and Harriett Bruce, Donna and Bob Walsh, Roy and Dianne Bonnell, and Janetta Myron. Also leaves behind a huge circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including but certainly not limited to the extended Marshall-Myron family.
Don will be remembered for always being up for a chat and a good time, his witty sense of humour, and the fact that he would always be there if you needed him. If you were looking for him there was a good bet that you would find him outside, halfway up a ladder with a beer and a smoke, sizing up his latest carpentry project. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Community Health and the Home Palliative and Paramedicine team, who enabled him to spend his final days at home with family.
At Don’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitations at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Home Palliative and Paramedicine Team at Eastern Health.
