Donald G. Cameron
Don passed away peacefully at home, in Kemptville on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Catherine McCann and the late Dianne Carruthers. Loving father of Kevin, Janice, Allan and step-father to Jeff and Mike Parsons. Cherished grandpa of Nicholas, Joshua, Sarah, Kaylee and Owen. Don is survived by his brother Neil (Judy), his sister Heather Carver (Barry), and nieces and nephews. Don was a competitive curler and enjoyed a good game of pool. He was an avid Yankee fan and liked to watch Sunday afternoon football. Don was proud of his political achievements as a Counselor, Reeve and Warden and as the first Mayor of North Grenville. He was accomplished in many careers as a civil servant, small businessman and as a local politician. Don had a lifetime passion for antique cars and enjoyed going to flea markets and car shows. Most of all, Dad loved his family. He enjoyed hosting his famous family barbeques and telling a good joke over the dinner table. He will be greatly missed by all. A Private Service will be held. A Graveside Service will be held in the spring. Donations may be made to the Kemptville Hospital Auxiliary or Foundation.
