Dianna’s Obituary
Symonds, Dianna Helen – January 29th, 1948 – August 5th, 2021, Dianna passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family by her side due to her fight with dementia and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was one of 10 kids to the late Irvin (Regina) Atwood. Dianna is survived by her husband of 51 years, Keith Symonds. They were married December 26th, 1969. She has three daughters, Stella (Bunny) Nickerson, Keithia Symonds (Austin) and Julie Symonds; grandmother to Dianna Smith (Kyle), Chelsie Nickerson (Tyler) and Connor Bower (Adrienne); great-grandmother to Keghan Goreham, Jaxson Jacquard and Cohan Goulden. She has the privilege of being a great grandmother to her extended family, Londyn Jacquard, Irelynn Jacquard and Emma Goreham. As you can see she had many titles daughter, mother, wife, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, Nan, Nana Symonds, big Nan, dang dang and friend. Dianna was an excellent cook which she took great pride in. She definitely had a green thumb just by looking at her flower gardens and vegetable garden you could see that. Dianna worked as a housekeeper in her younger years and then at Connor Brothers in the box room with her good friend Lois Brown. She then raised her girls. She then was secretary for Harold Pride Fisheries. Dianna then went and picked strawberries and blueberries for Jack Lore’s and Laura and Peter Sutherland which she greatly enjoyed. Dianna loved the outdoors: canoeing, hunting and living at the cottage half the year that was her passion. At the cottage Dianna helped with fundraising for the Upper Clyde Community Hall. She loved to visit her Upper Clyde friends. She will be missed by her family and friends. A special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 4th floor at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for your compassion and care. In keeping with Dianna’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or service. Memorial donations may be donated in her memory to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
