Obituary of Délia Soulière
Along side the tender loving care of her husband Mike, Délia passed away peacefully the morning of Monday January 18th 2021. She was 79.
Délia touched the lives of everyone she met with genuine kindness. For many years, local families trusted her to care for their children which she loved, treated as her own and instilled beautiful values.
She grew up on Miscou Island, New Brunswick and lived in Orléans. Délia loved the simple pleasures of life like spending time with her family, tending to her flowers, taking long car rides with her husband and attending mass at Paroisse Sainte-Marie d’Orléans. She was always welcoming, generous and eager to serve you treats. Throughout her illness she continued to smile, sing and tell jokes.
Dementia had not taken away her faith and nightly praying ritual, so deeply rooted inside her tender heart and spirit. Be assured our precious Angel Délia is praying and looking over all of you with her big beautiful warm smile.
Beloved daughter of the late Stella and Edmond Ward. Loving spouse of Mike for 45 years. Devoted mother of Simonne (Tim) and Kimberley (Marc). She is also survived by her brother Adeodat, and by her sisters Leola (late Harold), Annette (late Claude), Stella (late Daniel). Délia was predeceased by her sisters Anita and Rita. She was cherished by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Our exceptional gratitude goes to the healthcare workers and staff of Hôpital Montfort for their loving care over the last three months until the moment of her death.
We love you. You’ll be missed.
Due to public health’s pandemic restrictions and to maintain everyone’s safety, services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fondation Montfort hopitalmontfort.com/en/foundation or to Paroisse Sainte-Marie d’Orleans saintemarieorleans.org/.
