Dawson’s Obituary
Dawson Eli Norval Roberts passed peacefully with family by his side at the Western Long Term Care Facility, in Corner Brook, NL, on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, at the age of 89 years.
Leaving to mourn his wife of 62 years; Edith nee Barefoot, his daughter; Cheryl Ezekiel (Darrell), his sons; Paul (Rachel), Michael (Jackie), Allan (Cheryl), and Peter (Arlene), his grandchildren; Raymond (Kim), Nicole (Andrew), Leonard (Christa), Stephen, Casey, Timothy, Nathan (Lauren), and Spencer, his great grandchildren; Alex, Gage, Taylor, Kara, Ty, Gabby, Lindsey, Rowan, his brother; Elwood (Gennie), and sister; Innis Brown (Bob), and numerous nieces, and nephews. Dawson was predeceased by his parents; father; Eli, mother; Edna Payne, step-father; Charles, his brothers; Chris (Maude), Lyman, and Quinton, his sisters; Tish White (John), Ann Payne (Joe).
Dawson was a fun loving man who valued family and friends above all else. He was a great Historian who loved to reminisce about his family history. The history of Sally’s Cove and its people, the days of working “In the Woods” and his many friends. He valued education insisting all his children complete their education to become self sufficient. A big thank you to all the staff at Bayside, Western Long Term Care Facility for great food, dances, rides in the chair, hugs, and warm blankets. Thank you to Bay St. George Long Term Care. Home care workers especially Darlene Ralph.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation in Dawson’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
In keeping with Dawson’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
