It is with great sadness that we announce the death of
David Oliver Alderson, 61, of Springhill,
on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at All Saints Hospital. Born in Toronto,
David was a son of Elizabeth and the late Ephrem Alderson
Jr.
David was an avid out doors man. He enjoyed hunting, camping,
and fishing and riding in the side by side on the trails. A big fan of
racing, he looked forward to NASCAR each and every year. He was a
friend to many and will be dearly missed.
David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheila (Gallant),
of Springhill; his mother, Elizabeth Alderson, Oxford; his children,
Brandy (Andrew) Thomas, of Springhill, Melissa Gallant, Springhill,
Shaunna (James Herrett) Alderson, Springhill, Tristin (Chrissy
Mattinson) Alderson, Springhill; five grandchildren, Isaac, Sarah
Grace, Mackenzie, Jemma, and Caitlynn; his siblings, Dana (Karen)
Alderson, Eleanor (Bill) Beaton, and Crystal (Edmond) Gogan; his
mother-in-law, Viola Gallant; his sisters-in-law, Angie Blue and Pam
Wood, as well as several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his father.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill (902-597-2361). Honouring David’s wishes, cremation
has taken place. A service for David will take place at a later
date.
For those who wish to do so, donations in David’s memory may
be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
