Passed peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital on Saturday, November 27th 2021 at the age of 86. Dave was a loving husband for over 65 years to his dear Joanie; devoted father to Susan (John) Thomson and the late Davie; proud grandfather to Andrew, Lindsey, Megan, Jennifer, and Tom; and great grandfather to Carter. Dave will also be sincerely missed by his brother John (Leora) Page and all his extended family and friends. Dave was a dedicated pillar to his community and took great pride in volunteering his time to community services including Acclaim Health, Hamilton Literacy Council, St. Cristopher’s Church, Rotary and Burlington Housing Strategy. The family would like to thank the staffs of Hamilton General and Joseph Brant for their wonderful care of Dave and a special thank you to Rachel at Joseph Brant for all the comfort she provided to Dave during this time. Visitation will be held at SMITHS FUNERAL HOME 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington on Wednesday, December 1st 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church 662 Guelph Line, Burlington on Thursday, December 2nd at 1:00pm with interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens to follow.
