Obituary For David George Michael Tracey
Dave was born on January 5th, 1943 in Stellarton, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia. Dave, at the age of 18 years old, met his soon to be bride Marion Crosby. They were married 5 years later and started a family. After having 4 kids, Dave bravely left his life in Nova Scotia with his young family and headed to Alberta in hopes of a better life. Dave was a coal miner in Nova Scotia, and continued to do so in Grande Cache, Alberta. After their 5th child was born, and buying their first home in the mountains, he quickly fell in love with our little community never getting tired of the mountains and wildlife that was all around us. Dave loved to sit at the lake and fish the day away, or hike local trails holding his wife’s hand with every step. He was a gentle man, a loving and caring husband, and the world’s best father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Dave will be forever loved, dearly missed, and never forgotten.
Dave is survived by his loving wife Marion Tracey, sons Glenn, David, and Kelley Tracey, daughters Kim Tracey and Shelley Shea, grandchildren David and Krista Howell, Adrian Payette, and Katherine Bradley, great-grandson Peter Chartrand, brothers Johnny, Billy, and Pat, and his sister Nancy.
Dave is predeceased by his loving grandson Nathan Payette, parents David and Georgina Tracey, sisters Yvonne, Lillian, Joyce and Joan, and his brother Bobby.
Lonely is my home without you,
Life to me is not the same.
All this world would be like Heaven,
Just to have you back again.
We wish that we could see you Dad,
Just for a little while.
We wish that we could hug you and
See your lovely smile.
But wishing gets us nowhere,
And longing is in vain.
So we will hold you in our hearts,
Until we meet again.
