David was loved by many coworkers while working as a Plumber/Pipefitter at DB&J and also at UPEI for numerous years until his retirement. He was a proud and heavily active member of local 721 and IBEW unions for many years. He was especially known for his dry sense of humour, sarcasm, and loved pulling pranks on his co-workers. David turned a small home on Cumberland St. into a beautiful homestead that was always filled with love, laughter and delicious food.
David and Lilly opened their hearts and loving home to numerous foster children and adults with special needs. David spent many days and nights rocking babies and many children while whistling a sweet tune to them. His other passion was hand crafting with love, anything his family and friends needed or wanted in his workshop. He was a tremendous Carpenter and could perfect anything he set his mind to. David was an extremely loving husband, father, son, Poppy, brother and cherished friend to many. He touched many lives and always made time to share a laugh, a cup of tea or simply to offer help to family and friends in need. He had a very generous heart. He was a very proud Christian who loved the Lord. He was a true gentleman who went home in the arms of Jesus with his cherished wife and daughter by his side.
At David’s request, no service will take place. Cremation to take place at Caul’s Funeral Home in St. John’s, NL. Family will have a celebration of life in his home province of P.E.I. at a later date. Donations in his honor can be made to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ont, as he cherished kids.
