Obituary
David O’Keeffe passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 7, 2021. Born in Saint John, NB in February 1960, he was the son of Elsie O’Keeffe and the late Arnold O’Keeffe. He is survived by his Mother Elsie, sisters Debbie Cosman (Malcolm), Judy Arseneau (Ron), Michelle LeBlanc (Jamie). David was « Uncle Dave » to Mac, Jason, Brent, Billy, Michael, Justin, Jessica, Bryan, Alex and Matthew.
In addition to his father Arnold, he was predeceased by his brother Donnie and his nephew Mark.
David will be remembered as a son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle with a funny sense of humor. Having lived most of his adult life with family as it grew, he was always there looking out for all of us. As a nature enthusiast he could often be found enjoying himself at one of the beautiful places around the yard, always with one of the family dogs at his side. He often took the dogs on long walks through the woods and down to the lake. David took pride in his work. As an incredibly talented carver he brought joy to his family as he made works of arts for them. Later in life he enjoyed working at Leon’s having made good friends over these past years.
At David’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a private family celebration. He will be sadly missed by all that loved and knew him. Donations in David’s memory may be made to the SPCA or another charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424).
