Daniel (Danilo) Stok
Daniel (Danilo) Stok, age 90, died at Extendicare Timmins on September 22, 2021. He was born in Maribor, Slovenia but moved to Canada after surviving the Second World War. He worked on the rail lines near James Bay before settling down in Timmins and working as a milkman. In 1955, at the age of 24, he married Elizabeth (Betty) Plute. He worked for Air Canada for 24 years then worked as a local travel agent before retiring. Mr. Stok was an avid gardener and enjoyed picking mushrooms and blueberries in the forests around Timmins. He was a generous man who always made time to help friends and family.
He is survived by his son Andrew, daughter-in-law Denise, and two granddaughters, Ava and Elise. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in 1995. The family will receive friends on Saturday September 25, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Respecting the current pandemic provincial guidelines, wearing of masks, physical distancing and maximum capacity will be in place. Interment at Tisdale Cemetery will follow. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
