Obituary
Suddenly, at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in his 61st year. Dan, beloved son of Yvonne and the late William Keenan. Loving brother of Paul and his wife Arlene, Patrick and his wife Alice, and Linda and her husband Gord Crombeen. Dear uncle of Carolyn, Holly (Maxime), Ashley (Chris), Matthew (Patricia), Samuel, Kevin, and Brendan. Dan will be missed by his friend Marilyn Foster and his canine companion Mojo.
Dan was born in Red Lake, Ontario and moved to Port Elgin when he was a young boy. He grew up in Port Elgin for most of his childhood with the exception of 3 years when the family lived in India. Dan loved nature, fishing and all creatures and was a creative spirit who had a talent for drawing and carving. During high school he was a member of the Grey & Simcoe Foresters Militia and after high school, he studied Marine Engineering and worked on the Great Lakes. Later, he received his 4th Class Stationary Engineer ticket through Mohawk College. He was a gentle soul, a great listener and dear to his family and friends.
Friends will be received on Thursday September 16, 2021 from 11:00am until the time of the memorial service at the 12:00pm at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, 519-832-2222. Interment Sanctuary Park Cemetery. Please note, COVID 19 policies are in effect. Attendees must provide proof of vaccination to attend.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or an Animal Rescue Organization of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
