Dana Elizabeth Samuel (nee Buehler)
passed at her home in Gordonville, near Arthur, on September 29, 2021 at the age of 40, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dana was deeply loved and is already missed by so many: her husband of 11 years–and partner for 11 more–Chris Samuel; her children, Mason and Addison; her parents, Ann Buehler and Doug Noble of Drayton and Ken Buehler and Mary Maxwell of Alma; her sisters, Lyndsay Buehler (m. Dan Farrar) of Kitchener and Katie Jones (m. Darren Jones) of Arthur; and her grandmother, Gwen Stanners of Palmerston. Dana was the daughter-in-law of David and Betty-Anne Samuel of Arthur; sister-in-law of Jennifer and Geoff Reed of Wellesley and Kevin and Melissa Samuel of Teviotdale. Beloved aunt of Tyson, Josh, Delainey, Kaysie, Ian, Orson, Jazmyn, Eric and Roscoe.
Dana crossed over to join her grandpa, Andy Stanners, on what would have been his 102nd birthday. She is also predeceased by grandparents William and Lavina Buehler. To honour Dana’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
In her time on this earth, Dana found joy in curling, camping, figure skating, thrift shopping, and cheering for her kids at the arena. Dana was a careful planner and a woman of action, stepping up to help out friends, family and community members in their moments of need. The kindness that she demonstrated has been reflected back on her, and all those in her presence, a thousandfold. Dana and her family have been lifted up by the community support that has been so generously offered over the past several months. A special expression of appreciation to Bayshore nurses, Kathy, Sandra, and Leanne, and Mount Forest nurses, Shaun, and Penny.
The family will receive friends at the Arthur and Area Community Centre, 158 Domville Street, Arthur, on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please book a visitation time below or call 519-848-6872 to pre-register to attend the visitation and funeral service. Covid-19 protocols will be in place and will need to be followed. Rev. Ed Charlton will conduct the Funeral Service in the Arthur and Area Community Centre on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A recording of the service will be made available on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 below Dana’s notice.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to an education fund for Dana’s children would be appreciated by the family. Additionally, the family welcomes donations to Drayton United Church, Gordonville Presbyterian Church, and the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, as gestures of gratitude for the care and service provided.
