Obituary
It is with immense sadness that the family of Courtney Carol Hebert announce her passing which occurred unexpectedly on Monday, November 1, 2021. Courtney was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and was the cherished daughter of Mark and Heather (Rathje) Hebert.
Courtney could best be described as a very loving, social, caring, and compassionate person inside and out. During her time in high school, she was apart of the swim team, choir, drama and took part in many talent shows. Courtney had a love of music and played guitar and clarinet.
She dedicated her life to assisting others and was actively working towards her master’s degree at McGill University, specializing in Experimental Medicine.
Courtney was very much involved throughout the community serving as treasure of the Psychology Society, swimming instructor and lifeguard for the YMCA and as head lifeguard and swim instructor at Fundy National Park.
She volunteered as a Medical First Responder with St. John Ambulance, was a mentor with the ‘Promise Partnership’ at UNB, and a swimming instructor with swimming with a mission (SWAM) Canada.
In addition to her parents, Courtney is survived by her twinner (sister) Kendra along with her grandmother Jean-Marie “Bunny” Donaldson and grandparents Bob and Lorraine Rathje. She will be missed by her aunts and uncles; Debbie (Roy) Nolan, Kim (Kevin) Corbett, Kim (Mike) Powell, Kevin (Shelly) Hebert and Ron (Cindy) Rathje, along with several cousins, best friends Kendra DeMerchant and Meredyth Elisseau and her feline companion, Finn.
Courtney is predeceased by her grandfathers Wilbrod Hebert and Bill Donaldson.
Our family wishes to thank Dr. Susmita Pamidi (supervisor at McGill University) and Dr. Lilly Both (supervisor at UNBSJ) for their guidance, mentorship and friendship shown towards Courtney.
