Cody Joseph Halas Moulton
2002-2021
TARGETVILLE, NB – Cody Halas Moulton 19, of
Targettville passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 22 as the
result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Moncton, he was
the son of Gary and Katherine Halas Moulton.
The following tribute was lovingly composed by
Cody’s brother Mack:
« The first thing you need to know about Cody is that he
was aggressively friendly. He was so interested in everything around
him, especially people. You couldn’t be bored if you tried. He could
get people talking in a way I envied so much. It was almost too much
sometimes, but everyone knew him and he knew everyone. I would be out
for a drive with him and he would be pointing out houses and
identifying cars. He was never wrong. He was always keeping in touch
with family, using his time driving to call his grandmothers
and a whole host of aunts and great aunts and uncles and great
uncles.
He loved taking things apart and rebuilding them. He would’ve
been happy as an engineer or a mechanic, but he loved working as a
carpenter. We were considering building a ballista for firing potatoes
together over the holidays.
To someone who liked helping people to such an extent, the
volunteer fire department was a dream come true. For as long as
I’ve known him, Cody wanted to join the fire
department with our mother and father. The moment he turned sixteen he
joined as a junior firefighter, and studied hard for his level one.
Once he could, he wanted to go to every call that came through. Like
everything else he did, he was relentlessly dedicated to the fire
department. Cody was up, dressed, and starting the car before our
parents had even finished getting up.
He was so generous, even to people he barely knew. Always so
over the top with gifts and so willing to help people he had just met.
So dedicated to everything he did. Rugby was amazing for him. He liked
everybody on that team and for once, everyone liked him too. He was
good at it, and found it very rewarding. Cody was always trying to get
me hooked, loving the idea that we might be able to play together one
day. He wasn’t always happy, but the last month he was wearing a
permeant grin. He really loved Christmas, he was head over heels for
Maigan, he was doing a job he loved to do, playing in a team with
friends, and living in a home where he felt
loved. »
Cody will be sadly missed by his parents, his brother, Mack
and his girlfriend, Maigan Veneau. He is also survived by his two
grandmothers Elaine and Noëlla, his aunt Samantha, his uncle
Denis, and a large extended family of great-aunts and uncles and
cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Val and
Ron, as well as his beloved dogs Kuma, Gilligan, Yennik and
Doc.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The family wish to host an outdoor gathering for family and friends
and Black tide team mates around a bonfire (Cody’s
favourite) to share stories and celebrate his life on Wednesday,
December 29, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. If you
can’t be there with us, consider lighting your own fire or a
candle wherever you are at 4 AST. You can post a picture if you like
and light up the world all the way to heaven.
