It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clayton Edward McKinley of Edmonton, Alberta.
Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Clayton passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 at the age of 77 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marquita (nee O’Toole); children, Rodney McKinley, Miranda (Graham) Lang, Colin (Melissa) McKinley and Alita (Jason) Fisher; grandchildren, Georgia and Harrison Lang and Abigail McKinley.
Clayton will be fondly remembered by his sisters, Phyllis (Hanford) Brace and Mable McKinley and brother- in-law, Bill Robb.
He will be greatly missed by numerous extended family members, along with many lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Bernice McKinley; brother and sister- in-law, Bernard and Martha McKinley and sister, Edith Robb.
Clayton enjoyed a professional career as a Chartered Accountant. He loved to travel, and his favorite trips included visiting the Canadian Rockies and the ocean. He was passionate and vocal about sports especially the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Red Sox. Kind, loyal and funny, Clayton had a strong faith and a great sense of family. Above all he loved his family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre especially those on 10Y for their care of Clayton.
A private funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Joseph’s Basilica.
