Clarence’s Obituary
Clarence Morris Katerniuk passed away at his home in Hyas, SK, on December 1, 2021, at the age of 70 years.
Clarence was born at the Preeceville Hospital, Preeceville, SK, on June 16,1951, to Nick and Annie (nee Rudachuk) Kateryniuk. He attended Sturgis Elementary School and then Sturgis High School. He even drove school bus while still attending school. For a short time, after graduation, he worked in Thompson, MB, where he delivered explosives. He then moved to Toronto, ON, to work in a muffler shop owned by his cousin.
In 1975, after his marriage to Sandra Koroluk, the couple moved to Edmonton, AB, where Clarence managed a muffler shop. He also managed a shop in Red Deer, AB. In 1998, Clarence and Sandra moved back to Saskatchewan and Clarence became a grader operator for the RM of Clayton and then the RM of Keys. Although, he loved his job, Clarence retired early due to health issues.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Annie, and his nephew, Nicholas.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Hyas, SK; his only son, Mark, of Montreal, QC; brothers, Peter of Hyas, SK, and Ken (Corri) of Middlebro, MB; sister, Iris (Larry) Hofmeister of Belleville, ON; three nephews and two nieces; his aunt Mary Rudachyk of Norquay, SK; and his special other boy, Thor, his canine companion; as well as his extended family and many friends.
In accordance with Clarence’s wishes, no services will be held. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to Paws and Claws Animal Rescue (PO Box 1047, Yorkton, SK S3N 2X3), as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Clarence Kateryniuk, as this is where Clarence got Thor from.
