Obituary of Christopher Michael Horvat
As family our hearts are broken, as we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Michael Horvat on December 14th, 2021 in his 51st year. Son of Charly (the late Marilyn) Horvat. Devoted father to Christian and Aaron (Halle), loving brother to Dwayne (Brandi). Chris delighted in being a grandfather to Harlan Rose, and the best uncle to his niece Amelia. Chris was best friends to Laura, Noah, Dawson and Lincoln. He will also be missed by his extended family Olga, Rob and all his relatives in Europe.
When Chris wasn’t working he would be found spending time with his family. Chris always put his family first no matter what. He will be remembered for being the rock we could always depend on.
Chris loved being on the golf course, or at the racetrack on a Sunday—from Greenwood to Woodbine, he always admired the horses. All the while driving his yellow Camaro, with the windows down blaring his favourite music. In the colder months he could be found inside cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Flyers. We will miss his sense of humour and outgoing personality.
Chris was a longtime employee at Tinnerman, working as a Tool and Die Maker. Hardworking, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
The family will receive guests at a visitation on Tuesday, December 21 from 12pm-2pm at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on December 21st at 2pm. Proof of double vaccination/identification is required for those who wish to attend either the visitation or funeral service. For those wishing to attend virtually, a livestream link will be posted below. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate if you would do an act of kindness in honour of Chris.
